The Story of Compassion Services
Compassion Services was founded in 1997 with a mission to support the South East Queensland community by providing a full range of integrated counselling and psychological services designed to assess, diagnose and treat a range of mental and emotional health concerns for individuals, couples and families.
Helping and nurturing our community since 1997
From its early beginnings 26 years ago, Compassion Services has grown to provide full-time support from facilities in Helensvale and Mudgeeraba by a team of qualified professionals who each specialise in a range of therapeutic interventions to support people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds.

Our Team
Psychologists
Michelle Danagher is a general psychologist registered with AHPRA. With over 15 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with a range of mental health conditions, Michelle helps her clients understand the root causes of complex presentations such as eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, depression and adjustment disorders and provides practical solutions helping clients facilitate self-efficacy and positive change.
Shaun Prentis is a registered general psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). After completing a postgraduate degree majoring in organisational psychology, Shaun has 20 years of experience providing psychological support to clients of all ages and backgrounds.
Counsellors
Andy Pocock is a registered counsellor who has a strong focus on helping individuals thrive to achieve healthy relationships. Andy’s deep understating of attachment challenges and their impact on marriages and the whole family unit draws heavily on Gottman’s Research combined with his own lived experiences.
Melinda McDonald is a registered counsellor with a joint focus on individual, couples and relationship counselling.
With a proven background in listening to and observing clients, Melinda provides an individual and integrated approach to her sessions incorporating both one-on-one and joint counselling from our Helensvale location.
